Holi is the most colorful festival in not just India but the entire world. It is a festival of not just colors but unity, peace, and love. Holi celebrations start at the night before Holi, which is the holi eve with the bonfire. It is followed by holi the next day which is celebrated with colors.
Here are some of the facts about holi:
1# There is a slightly different version of history associated with Holi. It is said that Lord Krishna, owning to his Bluish skin complexion was skeptical about whether the beautiful Radha and her gopikas will find him attractive. His mother, Rukmini, fed up of this incessant insecurity convinces him to approach her and cover her in any color he likes. Lord Krishna does exactly that and since that day, holi is commemorated as the festival of love.

3# Very next day of Holi is for social bonding and on this day, people visit each other’s house where they greet each other with Gujiyaa’s and Namakeen's. Most of the markets and shops remain closed.
4# On the eve of Holi people make sweet delicacy known as ‘Gujiya’ which is basically a sweet dumpling. These dumplings are stuffed with the dry-fruits, Khoyas and much more. It’s a tradition to make gujiyas at homes which have way more value from that purchased in the market.
5# Holi is known for water fights. Colored water is filled with water balloons and water guns and sprayed on people along with dry powdered color.
6# It is a globally known festival and is celebrated by Hindus as well as by non-Hindus.
