 The well-known lawyer Ranjit Kumar resigned from the solicitor general of the Government of India. He has said to sources that he resigned for personal reasons. Mukul Rohatgi resigned from the post of attorney general a few months ago.

It is supposed that the government wants to bring back its legal team that is why he has resigned. In the conversation with reporters, he said that he wants to spend time with the family that's why he has left the post. Mukul Rohatgi, who resigned from the attorney general, also was presented the same reason.

The Attorney General and Solicitor General are the most important legal advisers of the Government of India. They do government's favor on all major issues in the Supreme Court.

After the formation of NDA government under the leadership of Narendra Modi in the center, Ranjit Kumar was appointed as a solicitor general for three years in June 2014. His term was mitigated in June this year.

Ranjit Kumar, who is well thought-out as an expert in constitutional laws, service related issues, and taxation, has also worked as a lawyer for the Gujarat government. He has always been the Amicus Curie in many cases in the Supreme Court.

Ranjit Kumar had lobbied the Gujarat government in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh Encounter case.
