NEW DELHI: After Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, its West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee's twist to confer GST (Goods and Services Tax) an innovative expansion – on her twitter handle today, Mamata called it the "Great Selfish Tax".
On Past month, Congress vice-president Rahul made fun of the GST, calling it the "Gabbar Singh Tax", compared with Hindi cinema's iconic villain performed by Aamzad Khan in ‘Sholey’. The Congress vice president while addressing an election rally in Gandhinagar had said that the flawed implementation of the tax system had led to the demolition of small businesses and industries within the nation.
Mamata today also tweeted against Note ban demanded that November 8 be observed as 'Black Day'.
Earlier this year, the chief minister, days before the execution of GST, termed the tax an unnecessary adversity. She called it "another epic blunder" after note-ban. In her post, the chief minister Mamata Banerjee said that “she is not against the tax, but, rather, its deprived implementation. She opined that the obligatory infrastructure for GST's implementation is omitted and the tax system if put into practice, will crash small and medium business owners”.
