Jharkhand is gearing up for the first phase of polling in the 2024 Assembly elections, scheduled for Wednesday, November 13. A total of 685 candidates will contest across 43 seats. These candidates emerged from an initial pool of 805 aspirants who filed their nomination papers between October 18 and 25. Following scrutiny, 743 nominations were found valid, and after the withdrawal of 58 nominations, 685 candidates remained in the fray.

Among the 43 seats going to polls in this phase, Jamshedpur West saw the highest number of nominations, with 28 candidates, while Jagannathpur recorded the lowest, with only eight candidates contesting.
