The rumours were high that Alia Bhatt will be seen opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Aanand L. Rai's next.

A source from the unit said, "Alia Bhatt is yet to sign on the dotted line, but has verbally committed to the film. The three actors will start prepping once Katrina Kaif completes the ongoing Abu Dhabi schedule of her film with Salman Khan . Rai plans to take the project on floors later this year."

However, now Aanand L Rai's spokesperson rubbishes the rumours, "A lot of names have been thrown in but at the moment the female lead has not been finalised. The casting is underway and is taking time as it is a difficult role in fact one of the most challenging that Aanand has ever worked on. The role needs a lot of prep time as well has shoot time for which a substantial chunk of dates are required. It's not just about finishing this film but making it."
