Despite a good start, hosts couldn't continue the pace and have been defeated by the visiting SA team in the very first test match at Perth. It was for the first time Australia has lost an opening game of summer tests after 28 years. SA team completely outraged the hosts to clinch a 177 run win.

On the final day of the match, hosts were chasing the target of 539. At the end of the day, than have put 169/4 trailing by 390 runs on the last day. In absence of Dale Steyn, Rabada took the lead and cost the critical wicket of Captain Steve Smith.

Rabada took 2-0 in the space of nine balls in an outstanding nine-over spell of reverse swing bowling. He had Smith and Adam Voges (1) caught behind by wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock. A defeat will be embarrassing for Smith's team given that Australia hasn't lost the first home Test since losing to the West Indies at the Gabba in 1988.

Not so good start for the hosts but the visiting will be taking the advantage of putting opponents in pressure. SA has already taken lead 1-0 in the series. Lot more to come, as the series progresses to the next games.
