The Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar seems to agree with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi now and then. Yesterday, Kumar said that the Prime Minister's pushing of simultaneous state and general elections is sagacious.
PM Modi at a meeting with Chief Ministers of different states in April this year said that holding general and state elections at one go would be much cheaper and stop the disruption of governance.
A senior JDU leader, Vashishta Narayan Singh, said the party has no objections to simultaneous voting, not least because it will save the country a lot of money.
The Chief Minister said demonetisation will change people's mindset and clear the way for the next phase of fighting corruption by identifying the proxy-owned or benami property.
