A meeting has been called by the Prime Minister on thursday to hold discussions on whether to withdraw the Most Favoured Nation status to the pakistan.

Pakistan was granted with "Most Favoured Nation" in 1996 by India but Islamabad is yet to reciprocate.

PM Modi discussed with National Security Adviser Ajit Doval and Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar and other top officials that a reconfiguration of the Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan was among the steps that the government should take.

PM said in a meeting held at yesterday, "Blood and water cannot flow together”.

India is deliberating a string of steps in order to squeeze the pressure on Pakistan over the September 18 attack on an army base in Jammu and Kashmir's Uri, in which Pakistan-based terrorists killed 18 soldiers.
