Activists while protesting against Sanjay Leela Bhansali's huge periodic drama Padmavati attacked the set of the film and even slapped the director of film. In support of SLB, Bollywood has come out and stand together.
Filmmaker Karan Johar takes his stand and tweeted: “Am appalled at what has happened with Sanjay Bhansali....this is the time for all us as an industry to stand by our people and fraternity!!” Having been through many instances of turmoil during a film shoot or release...i understand Sanjay's emotion at this point...I stand by him,” he further wrote.
Actress Sonam also tweeted: “What happened on Padmavati sets is appalling and heinous. Is this the state of the world.”
Actress Bhumi Pednekar too took her stand: This is just disgusting,wrong & shameful.Am shocked & so angry at the stupidity & blind faith people show in cultural and religious frauds.
But it is strange that the star cast of Padmavati i.e., Shahid Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone keeps silence on the whole issue.
Now, reason behind this mum of stars is revealed- Deepika is back in country just a day back, Shahid is busy in promotion of his next film and Ranveer Singh is in Hyderabad for attending a wedding.
