RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav appeared before the CBI court in Patna on Tuesday morning. Lalu was present in Bhagalpur Treasury here in the Rs 47 lakh fodder scam case. Lalu is accused of fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 47 lakh in this case.
In the case still, the CBI has to present the witness and charge sheets have been filed on 44 people, out of which 15 people running the trial and 29 people are undergoing trial. The CBI has so far presented 34 witnesses.
The fodder scam is a matter related to Bihar Animal Husbandry Department in the middle of 1990. Lalu was Chief Minister of Bihar during this period. On the other hand, the CBI filed a petition in the Supreme Court, challenging the filing of the FIR against Lalu Prasad for the Jharkhand High Court in a case of fodder scam.
