Foot Bath Step-by-Step Guide for Cracked Feet

Dry/cracked feet are a sign of lack of attention towards your body and one of the worst nightmares for most women. The skin on the feet tends to become drier as there are no oil glands present there. This dryness causes the skin to crack. Lack of moisturization, overexposure to pollution, and some medical conditions such as eczema, diabetes, thyroid, and psoriasis lead to dry and cracked feet.

Here are steps to give foot bath for cracked feet:

Step 1: To a bucketful of slightly warm water, add some sea salt. Soak your feet for 10 minutes.

Step 2: With the help of a pumice stone, scrub the area to get rid of dead skin. You can also add some essential oil to the same bucket and massage your feet with your fingers.

Step 3: Keep your feet soaked in for 15 minutes, then gently wipe your feet with a soft towel.

Step 4: You can massage a hydrating lotion on your feet. You can also use glycerin. Glycerin is a humectant. It can lock in moisture in your skin and help retain it for long. It is a popular moisturiser. The first step before you apply glycerin is to dip your feet in lukewarm water mixed with soap or hydrogen peroxide to get rid of all the dirt from your feet.
Once you are done with the foot bath, wear a pair of socks before you go off to sleep. This will help keep your feet hydrated. Do this at least twice a week before going to bed for effective results.
