Indian skipper, the one and only ‘The Run Machine’ Virat Kohli will now play his 200th ODI for the nation when he steps foot in the beautiful ground in Mumbai against New Zealand. Virat has moved from strength to strength in limited overs cricket despite replacing the captaincy responsibilities from MS Dhoni. While many greats of the game including Sachin Tendulkar failed to manage the burden of captaincy along with on-pitch performance, Kohli has proved time and time again why he is a superstar of modern-day cricket.

The 28-year-old, Virat Kohli who will feature in his 200th ODI when he steps onto the Wankhede stadium against New Zealand on Sunday, has carrier some phenomenal numbers and record to his career in the recent times and will look to add to his wonderful run-scoring momentum against the Kiwis in the upcoming series. In the past one year, Kohli has bagged an impressive tally of 1,555 runs at a strike rate touching 100.

With five centuries of the period, he is on the level overall with Ricky Ponting’s 30 ODI hundreds, the second-most in this format behind Sachin Tendulkar. With the 200th ODI summon, all eyes will be on the Indian skipper as he looks to help his team continue the dominant performance that they have shown in the recent past and come out on top from the Kiwi challenge.
