Jama Masjid Blast case: Charges have been fixed against Bhatkal and 8 others

New Delhi: Delhi court has fixed charges in the two cases involving the 2010 Jama Masjid blast case against members of Indian Mujahideen Yasin Bhatkal and eight others. Along with this, the charges against these accused will now be heard.

Additional Sessions Judge Siddharth Sharma said that there is sufficient evidence against him and charges have been fixed on this basis. However, the accused told themselves innocence and thus the way of the hearing became clear.

The court issued a muscle warrant against the accused Ejaz Shaikh. Shaikh could not be present from a prison in Mumbai. In addition to Bhatkal, hearing against Gauhar Aziz Khumani, Geur Ahmed Jamali, Mohammad Adil, Mohammad Irshad Khan, Mohammad Aftab Alam, Kamal, Asadullah Akhtar and Jia ur Rehman are to be heard. Earlier, the police had filed a charge sheet against 11 suspected members of the IM in connection with the blast case.
