Actor Kamal Hassan and AAP National Conveyor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal have together ally declared that they are united in the battle against corruption.

“(Mr. Kejriwal) has a national profile for struggling against corruption... we had a conversation about this and we are united in this,” the actor said.

The announcement came at their joint press conference after the two met in Chennai on September 21.

“There has been a lot of gossip about why he came to meet me. The purpose is particular — he has a national profile of fighting against corruption. So no doubt we had a exchange of ideas about this and we are united in this, ” Mr. Hassan said adding that he was pleased and honoured that the Delhi Chief Minister came to meet him.

Mr. Kejriwal said, “It’s important at this point of time when we are battling against corruption, all like-minded people should talk to each other and come together.”

He added that they exchanged their ideas and discussed the situation in Tamil Nadu. “We will continue to meet.”

This is their second meeting. In September 2015, Mr. Haasan met Mr. Kejriwal at the Delhi Secretariat to seek support for the film industry.

The meeting comes amid speculation about Mr. Haasan’s entry into politics. The actor last week said he was considering floating his own political party.
