Ingredients:
5 medium sized red ripe tomatoes, cut
1/2 cupsev
1/2tsp cumin seeds
1/4tsp mustard seeds (mustard seed)
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
1 green pepper, finely chopped
2 tsp sugar
1/2tsp red chilli powder
1/4tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp Coriander Powder
1/4tsp Garam Masala Powder, optional
2 tbsps finely chopped coriander
2 tbsp oil
Salt to taste
1/2 cup water
Method:
Heat oil over medium flame in a pan. Add mustard seeds (mustard seeds) and cumin seeds; When the seeds of the mustard starts crackling, add the chopped onion and fry till it becomes light brown.
Add ginger-garlic paste and chopped green chillies and roast for 15-20 seconds. Add the chopped tomatoes and roast for a minute. Put salt, sugar and turmeric powder. Mix well and cook on medium flame for 2-3 minutes. Add 1/2 cup water and mix it well. Cook until softened tomatoes (about 4-5 minutes) on a low flame. Occasionally keep running with a spoon in between.
Add red chili powder, garam masala powder, coriander powder and sev. Mix well and let it cook for 1-2 minutes. Turn off the gas. Remove the tomato sauce from a serving bowl and decorate it with green coriander. Serve hot with Chapati, Thepala or Paratha.
