The Opposition party for the upcoming presidential elections has declared the Former Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar as its Presidential nominee.
Yesterday, the Opposition - Congress and the Communist Party of India (CPI), and other parties have decided to meet for the discussion of the National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) decision on Presidential nominee Ramnath Kovind.
The BJP president Amit Shah had announced the name ofKovind as NDA's candidate for the upcoming presidential elections which are scheduled to take place on July 17 as on July 24 the current President Pranab Mukherjee will demit the office.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) issued the notification in this regard and the process of the nomination has started that will continue till June 28.
