In the first of the five-match series yesterday in the Rosa Birch Park in Pukekohe the New Zealand women's hockey team beat India by 1-4.
Jordan Grant scored the goal in the 13th minute. Olivia Merry scored a 23rd-minute goal. (31') scored a goal. McCann scored the third goal in the 43rd minute. Deanna Ritchie scored the fourth goal for her team in the 55th minute. Anupa Barla (31') scored a goal.
On 16 may the two teams will have their second match.
