The Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi has roped Shahid Kapoor's younger brother Ishaan Khatter to play the lead in his upcoming film Beyond The Clouds.

The shooting for the same has already been started. To play the female lead in the film, Deepika Padukone was approached but she didn't make it to the cast. Then Kangana Ranaut was approached but she rejected the role called it submissive and less meaty than her onscreen brother. Finally, the leading lady of the film has roped in and she is Malavika Mohanan (daughter of renowned cinematographer K. U. Mohanan.) 

Source reveals, "Mr. Majidi found his character in Malavika. He was looking for a face, that could fit the character and own it and for him, Malavika made the cut." 

Also Zee Studios and Eyecandy confirmed the news, "Yes, Malavika is on board to play the leading lady in the film - Beyond The Clouds. Mr. Majidi did a look test with her and was very happy with the results. She has started the shoot in Mumbai."
