It has been confirmed by sources that Modi is staying away from visiting Pakistan for the SAARC summit which is going to be held in November 2016. Although, official news from the administration will be sent to the council close to the date of the summit.

This decision was already made before the Uri-attacks to clarify the the reason for not attending the conference but at the same time the Uri attack just makes it sure, that there is no reason for the Indian PM to attend the summit.

Afghanistan and Bangladesh had indicated their intentions not to attend the Saarc meeting in Islamabad. In recent weeks, Bangladesh did not attend the Saarc home ministers' conference in Pakistan, and after home minister Rajnath Singh got a cold lame welcome, Arun Jaitley, the Indian finance minister has kept himself aside and excused himself from the meeting of finance ministers.

Earlier, in the G-20 Summit held in China where PM Modi straight away aimed at Pakistan as the main reason for terrorism in south Asia. India’s decision to call Pakistan’s bluff has a history. The Home Minister demands Pakistan to be labeled as a “Terrorist State”
