Deepika Padukone is currently shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus Padmavati which also stars Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor.

Deepika will be seen in the role of Rani Padmini while Ranveer plays the role of Alauddin Khilji and Shahid will be seen as Raja Rawal Ratan Singh. After completing the shooting of Padmavati, Deepika will start shooting for Vishal Bhardwaj's next which is a biopic on Sapna Didi.

Deepika on choosing diverse roles said, "To be honest, it’s not a conscious decision at all. I guess it’s something I’m naturally drawn towards."

On enjoying such challenges to play the roles, the actress said, "A physically or mentally challenging role gives me a different kind of thrill. It’s exhausting while filming but the results are very satisfying and that feeling is irreplaceable (smiles)."
