For Pakistan Asad Shafiq who play magnificently scoring an unbeaten 86 while skipper and also wicketkeeper Sarfraz Ahmed was 57 not out as they raise the bar for their nation Pakistan from a terrifying position at 52-5 to 198-5 at the close after being set an overwhelming target of 317 runs. And keep hope for Pakistan to win this test match and level this test series on the final day of the test. This pair added 146 runs for the uninterrupted partnership sixth-wicket stand to leave Pakistan needing another 119 runs with five wickets in hand to level the series, which seems to be in their favor but Sri Lanka surprise them in last game as well, none the less final twist is still awaited.

Sri Lanka won a nail-biting first Test in Abu Dhabi by 21 runs. Both Shafiq and Ahmed batted confidently to raise hopes of Pakistan maintaining their unbeaten record in nine Test series in the United Arab Emirates, their adopted home since 2009.
