Sushant Singh Rajput has started prepping for Chanda Mama Door Ke. But till yet, female lead of the film is not finalised. Aisha Sharma was expected to play the lead role opposite Sushant.

However, as per the makers, "There is no truth to the report. The casting for the film is still underway and an official announcement will be made soon."

News of Fatima Sana Shaikh to play the female lead also made rounds the corners, "The makers of Chanda Mama Door Ke have been hunting for a leading lady, and they’re keen on casting Fatima for this film. Right now, nothing is on paper, so one can’t confirm anything about this."

Now as per the sources, Shraddha Kapoor will be seen opposite Sushant Singh Rajput in this space drama. Reveals the source from the unit, "The female lead had to be someone who is willing to take a risk. The film requires the actress to transform physically — she has to sport short hair. This was proving to be a deterrent for most actresses, who auditioned for the part, since they wouldn't be able to do any other film at the same time. With Haseena Parkar, Shraddha has made it clear that she is up for experimental roles. She doesn't have any inhibitions about chopping her hair for the film and is excited about the challenge."
