Arun Jaitley the finance minister of India in the 3rd SBI Banking and Economic conclave said with the present situation, and if it remains to continue, the ministry will have no problem in presenting and implementing the new GST bill by the new session that starts on April 1st 2017.
“I haven’t seen finance ministers of states dividing themselves on party lines. If that trend goes on, I am certain it may be reasonably possible for us to meet the deadline however difficult it may be,” the finance minister said in the conclave.
The GST council held its first meeting and still seems to be far away with a fixed bill rate. It took the government (no matter whosoever was sitting on the chair) a decade to amend the GST uniform tax bill in the Constitution.
