New Delhi: Arun Jaitley, Finance Minister today said that he hoped demonetisation will help out in increasing the revenue of government and the lowering of fiscal deficit due to which high expenditure will generate in Defence and Rural Infrastructure.

At the Digi Dhan Mela, he said "With the junking of the old high-value currency, the parallel economy has become part of the formal system, which leads to higher accountability and taxation that boost economic growth and transparency".

In this Fiscal, it is Government's aim to lower down the Fiscal Deficit by 3.99%. He further said "The government will pass on lesser burden to the posterity if the fiscal deficit is lower, ".
