Srinagar: As per the latest reports, Gurez sector in Bandipore, Kashmir had a hard hit by avalanche. Unfortunately, the hazardous phenomena killed 10 soldiers including 1 officer of Line of Control (LoC).

Many other soldiers were injured, out of which one JCO and six soldiers have been rescued out of the snow heap. Srinagar is suffering from avalanche since two-three days, three army personnel were killed in the previous avalanche at the same sector, while one soldier killed in the district of Sonamarg area.

A police officer reported, the house collapsed under the debris of the avalanche resulting death of 55 year old Mehraj-ud-din Lone, his wife Azizi, son Irfan and daughter Gulshan.

Kashmir authorities have warned people who leave at the top to stay away from the mountain ranges.
