Surat: Union Minister and BJP candidate from the Porbandar Lok Sabha seat in Gujarat, Mansukh Mandaviya, expressed gratitude to party workers, likening them to "God." Mandaviya emphasized the pivotal role of party workers in BJP's functioning and acknowledged himself as one among them.
He praised the relentless efforts of the Narendra Modi-led central government, highlighting its dedicated service to the nation's development. "Due to our hard work, we have a government that has tirelessly worked for five years for the upliftment of the poor, backward classes, farmers, women, and youth. I salute your hard work," Mandaviya remarked.
As part of his election campaign, Mandaviya conducted a 'Prabhat Pheri' in his constituency, a traditional morning march involving devotional songs, in Murakhada village of Porbandar. He underlined the significance of this ancient practice, stating that it has been an integral part of their lifestyle.
Mandaviya is contesting against Congress' Lalit Vasoya, a former MLA from the Patidar community, for the Porbandar Lok Sabha seat. Before being elected to the Rajya Sabha, Mandaviya served as an MLA from the Palitana assembly seat of Bhavnagar in 2002.
A total of 12 candidates are vying for the Porbandar Lok Sabha seat, and approximately 17,94,000 voters will determine their fate. Gujarat will go to the polls in the third phase of the general elections on May 7, with the exception of Surat. The election results are scheduled to be announced on June 4.
