Agartala: The elections in Tripura have concluded, and the ruling BJP is optimistic about winning both seats. The recent alliance with 'Tripra Motha', led by royal scion Pradyot Manikya Deb Barman, has strengthened BJP's prospects, particularly in the Tripura East constituency, where another royal scion, Kriti Singh, is the BJP candidate. Now, the focus shifts to West Bengal, where the BJP aims to replicate its success in Tripura.

With cultural and linguistic similarities between Tripura and West Bengal, the BJP sees an opportunity to present its governance and development model as a blueprint for West Bengal. The party is confident that the leaders from Tripura can have a significant impact on the remaining phases of elections in West Bengal. In contrast, the Trinamool Congress (TMC), which contested in the Tripura assembly elections in 2023, faced rejection by the people of the northeastern state.

Around 30 leaders, including Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, are gearing up to lead the BJP's campaign in West Bengal for the Lok Sabha elections. Joining them are other MLAs and ministers from Tripura, all set to rally support for the BJP in the neighboring state.

BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharya highlighted the historic voter turnout witnessed in Tripura during the recent Lok Sabha elections, setting a significant precedent nationwide. Expressing confidence in a resounding victory for the BJP in Tripura, Bhattacharya outlined the party’s strategic deployment of 30 Vistaraks, comprising state leaders, ministers, and MLAs, to West Bengal. He affirmed their collective mission to reinforce the party’s presence and secure victory in the region.

Bhattacharya emphasized the similarities between the prolonged rule of the CPIM in West Bengal and the current Trinamool Congress administration, noting a prevailing sense of fear among the populace. He lamented the decline of the industrial sector and the hindrance of centrally sponsored schemes under the current regime, citing distress among the people. Conversely, he praised Prime Minister Modi’s proactive efforts in implementing welfare schemes, which the BJP aims to showcase in West Bengal.

“We will shed light on PM Modi’s unwavering commitment to the people’s welfare through various schemes,” Bhattacharya affirmed, echoing the party’s optimism for victory in West Bengal. He identified violence as a primary concern in the state, signaling the BJP’s intent to address and mitigate such issues.

As the BJP mobilizes its leadership from Tripura to bolster its campaign efforts in West Bengal, all eyes are set on the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, poised to shape the political landscape of the region.
