In a continued effort spanning 40 hours, rescue teams discovered two additional bodies buried beneath the wreckage of the hoarding collapse in Mumbai's Ghatkopar. Despite the extended duration of the operation, these bodies, located late Tuesday, are yet to be recovered, as confirmed by an official from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).

On Wednesday morning, rescue operations faced a new hurdle with a minor fire erupting at the site. Fortunately, authorities swiftly contained the blaze, ensuring no further complications. "There was a small fire, but it was extinguished immediately," stated the NDRF official.

The incident, occurring on Monday evening, unfolded when a towering hoarding on land managed by the Government Railway Police (GRP) toppled onto a nearby petrol pump in the Chheda Nagar vicinity amidst sudden dust storms and unanticipated rainfall.

Simultaneously, another tragic incident unfolded in Gujarat, where seven members of a family, including children, are feared to have drowned in the Narmada River at Poicha. Reports suggest they were swept away by strong currents on Tuesday. The ongoing search involves local divers from NDRF and the Vadodara fire department scouring the area for any signs of the victims.

The unfortunate incident sheds light on safety concerns at Poicha, a popular picnic destination, now subjected to stringent regulations barring unlicensed boat operations. Despite these measures, unauthorized boatmen persist in conducting operations along the Vadodara side of the river.

Efforts to locate the missing individuals have received reinforcement from the 6BN NDRF unit stationed in Jarod, Vadodara district. Investigations into both incidents remain underway as officials and rescue teams remain steadfast in their endeavors.
