Jaipur: Efforts persisted on Saturday to quench a fire that erupted in a cow shed in the Gajsinghpur area of Rajasthan's Sriganganagar district last night. Upon receiving the alert, the police administration, accompanied by multiple fire tenders, swiftly responded to the scene to combat the blaze. Officials confirmed that approximately 600 cows housed in the shed were safely evacuated to secure locations. However, the cause of the fire remains undetermined.

Banwari Lal Chaudhary, Tehsildar of Gajsinghpur, provided insight into the situation, stating, "The fire broke out during the night. Prompt action was taken by the police team and fire brigade to contain the situation. All the cows were successfully relocated to safer areas." Chaudhary expressed optimism that the fire would be extinguished by Saturday evening, while investigations into its origin are ongoing. Amidst soaring temperatures and intense heatwaves across the country, several fire incidents have been reported from various regions.

Three fire incidents were reported today alone, including a building fire in Mumbai's Tardeo area and a parked ambulance blaze at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur. Additionally, a fire erupted in the Dingu Forest of Himachal Pradesh's Bilaspur district, although the exact cause remains uncertain.

Himachal Pradesh has witnessed a staggering 1,033 forest fire incidents since the onset of summer, scorching over 9,500 hectares of land in the past 44 days, according to official data. Taking note of the severity of forest fires, the High Court of Himachal Pradesh has initiated suo moto proceedings to address the issue. Presently, around 25 forest areas remain engulfed in flames, prompting concerted efforts by the authorities to contain the incidents.
