Brahma Kamal is a huge white lotus that has lots of religious beliefs in Hindus. Its existence itself is considered as magical and as power of God. In scientific terms this flower is named as Saussurea Obvallata and comes in the variety of Flower cactus.
The flower grows in the forests of Himalyas. It has lots of Mythological beliefs associated with them.
1. The Lotus of Brahma:- It is termed as the Lotus of Lord Brahma on which he sits. One of the beliefs say that Lord Brahma was born out of white Lotus which ideally makes this flower to be name as Brahma kamal.
2. The Life providing Lotus:- As per mythology when Lord Shiv had attached the face of an elephant on the Ganesha's face he bathed him with Brahma kamal as it is considered as life giving Lotus. In mordern times as per science it has lots of medical benefits to it.
3. Wish fulfilling:- The rare fact that it blooms after a span of 14 years and blooms in the late evening only for few hours , it is said that the one who sees it blomming all their wishes come true.
