Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd users, who are not spending money on the internet are provided by the free 1GB internet by the BSNL telecom provider. This was done to promote the digital India movement.
Not only to promote the digitization of India, but this move is also aimed to garner users on its telecom service SIM. The company previously launched 2GB per day data offer, which showed the great change in the number of users on its network.
A statement given by BSNL states, "On pan India basis BSNL offers 1 GB free data for the smartphone users who are not using BSNL GSM data services. The intention of this offer is to promote number of internet users in BSNL network."
