Common vision myths you need to know
Staring at the computer too long is bad for you
If you stare at anything for a long time, you tend to blink less, causing dryness in your eyes, but this will not affect your vision. You should take regular breaks and glance away from the computer when working for an extended amount of time.
Reading in dim light is harmful
You may get a headache and your eyes will become tired a bit quicker causing words to seem blurry, but this is only temporary and is not permanent.
Wearing someone’s glasses will hurt your eyes
While you are wearing someone else’s glasses your eyes will not be working normally as they would. This is only temporary and as soon as you take off the glasses your eyes will adjust back to normal.
Staring directly at the sun
The sun produces ultraviolent rays which can cause damage to your lens and retina. It is never good to stare at the sun.
Crossing your eyes
When you cross your eyes for amusement, it will not cause permanent damage to your eyes and once you are done your eyes will return to normal.
