Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar has requested to have a debate on the Uniform Civil Code(UCC). Today, the Congress leader Pramod Tiwari according the sources said "What Nitish Kumar has said is right. If he wants a debate on it, he can get it happen" .

He further said that "Uniform Civil Code (UCC) is not possible, which is our view. There are many traditions in the Hindu dharma itself, which cannot be governed by the Uniform Civil Code".

Nitish Kumar however refused to give his government's view on the question sent by law commission on the Uniform Civil Code.
