The Bharatiya Janata Party has termed the Congress allegation that India did not have sufficient personal protective equipment (PPE). The BJP has tightened its strings and asked if the Opposition party is sorry for not getting a chance to loot the government treasury. Earlier, Congress had said that the government is guilty of not defining the details of personal protective equipment for doctors and health workers till March 2.

Amit Malviya, the head of the BJP IT cell, tweeted on this matter, 'WHO issued an advisory on February 27 saying that PPE is necessary for the health workers directly involved with the Corona virus infected patients. India imported 21,000 in the first week of February and 30,000 more in the first week of March. Apart from this, the country has the capacity to produce 35,000 PPE every week. He also attached documents to the tweet to confirm his claim.

The Congress had alleged lack of PPE till March 2. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that the government should have taken the threat of corona virus more seriously. Rahul Gandhi tweeted, 'I am feeling very sad, because it could have been completely avoided. We had time to prepare. We should have taken this threat very seriously and prepared well. However, the Twitter handle that Rahul Gandhi later quoted went missing later.
