The Union Cabinet today has waived off the interest of farmers for the November and December months. The government has waived off Rs 660 crore intrest of farmers on short term crop loans.
The cabinet also took some other decisions on Kyoto Protocol and transfer of land to Airport authorities. They also gave their approval on the IIM amendment bill.
The Cabinet has also approved the construction of Convention centre at Pragati Maidan. The project is by the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) whose cost is likely to be the Rs 2,254 crore.
