Kolkata: Today, early in the morning, South City Mall in Kolkata caught fire. The fire broke out at 9.15am, which was reported to be initiated from the food court of the mall. Later, the black smoke from the food court was observed by the people. The mall has been evacuated.
People who were watching the movie multiplex were alerted by the security guards. And also, guards instantly detached electric connections. Soon, the site will be visited by the Fire minister Sovon Chatterjee.
The movement of vehicles in the locality of the mall has been stopped by the local administration. While, fifteen fire officers reached the spot to douse the flame.
