Kila Raipur Rural Olympic games seem to dwindle its popularity in foreign tourists. The three-day Rural Olympic games were so attractive few years back that more than 100 foreign tourists came to watch the famed games.
Manjeet Singh, a resident of Qila Raipur village said "A few years ago, more than 100 foreign tourists came to watch the game on the first day. But this year, there are less than 10 foreign tourists. Despite its rural background, the games have a large international following. I think the absence of bullock cart races has affected the popularity of the games."
Hoping to gain its popularity again as now that bullock cart races have been resumed, Jassi, another resident, said "After the Tamil Nadu government passed a bill allowing Jallikattu, we hope the bullock cart races will also be resumed. The race has been the center of attraction in the games for people in the country and abroad."
The attraction of the first day of Rural Olympics- a resident lifted 91 kgs with his ears.
