Ostriches are the native creatures of the Africa, but the recent clues allege that there was the existence of the Indian Ostriches too. The team of geologists and archaeologists have found the clues of the existence of Ostrich species in India.
As per the reports, archaeologists have found some egg shells in the area of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. The study was conducted at the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB).
CCMB’s senior principal scientist Kumarasamy Thangaraj said in a statement, "We have successfully analyzed the ostrich egg shells in our ‘ancient DNA’ facility and established that the egg shells (found in India) are genetically similar to the African ostrich."
Thangaraj further added, "The carbon dating (of the ostrich egg shells) to determine the age shows that they are at least 25,000 years old."
