The governor of Indonesia capital is on a trial for having some profane talks about Islam which landed him to trouble. Being a country of majority muslims this hasn't gone down well the civilians and they protested rigoursly against the governor.

On Tuesday when he was brought for trial to court he sobbed and said his intent was never to insult the religion as he himself is raised by Muslim parents and they had a significant role in his childhood.

“As a person who grew up in Islamic circles, is not possible for me to insult Islam,” Ahok, the governor, told the court.

Things came into light when a video surfaced online where Ahok lightheartedly joked about Islam and since then there has been protests by the citizens for six consecutive weeks where the last protest turned violent killing one and leaving many injured.
