The Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi paid tribute to Lala Lajpat Rai also known as 'Punjab Kesari' on his 151st birth anniversary. The freedom fighter was one among the Lal-Bal-Pal including Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Bipin Chandra Pal.

PM Modi tweeted on Twitter and wrote "Tributes to Lala Lajpat Rai on his birth anniversary. He was respected for his fearlessness, impeccable integrity and fight against injustice,"

"Remembering today Punjab Kesari #LalaLajpatRai - a stalwart of the freedom struggle, who fought fearlessly against injustice and oppression," wrote Mr. Gandhi in his tweet.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Union Ministers Harsimrat Kaur Badal through Twitter also paid tribute to Lala Lajpat Rai.
