Priyanka Gandhi will finally get on the campaign trail on Friday in Uttar Pradesh. She will accompany the Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi at his first election rally in Raebareli.
Senior Congress Leader Akhilesh Singh’s daughter Aditi Singh is contesting from the Raebareli seat in the assembly polls. The Raebareli seat is represented by Congress President Sonia Gandhi in the Lok Sabha and has been seen as a Congress stronghold fro years.
Assembly constituencies under Amethi and Raebareli go to polls in the 4th and 5th phase of polling in the state on February 23 and 27.
The Congress is contesting on 105 seats in the state with Samajwadi Party contesting from 298 out of a total of 403 seats. The first two phases of polling were conducted in Uttar Pradesh on February 11 and 15. The remaining five phases will take place between February 19 and March 8. The counting of votes will take place on March 11.
