The time when filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani announced that he is going to make biopic on Sanjay Dutt, the entire industry paid their attention to this news. And his cast to play Sanju Baba on-screen is quite satisfactory in Ranbir Kapoor. The film went on to roll yesterday.

Raju shared, “It goes on the floors today, January 14, and Sanju will give the clap. We are one big family. We hope to wrap it up by June and are targeting a Christmas 2017 release."

Raju Hirani says, “It's not a film about guns, drugs and the underworld. It's a feel-good film about a father-son relationship with Paresh Rawal playing Sunil Dutt and Ranbir as Sanju... A buddy film with Sanju's many friends adding up to one from the US, played by Vicky Kaushal."

The actresses Anushka Sharma will be seen as a journalist while Sonam Kapoor will be seen as women who had loved by Sanjay. When Raju was asked about selection of Ranbir for playing the role, "He has to put on a few more kilos before losing it all.The first time I saw him in get-up, I thought it was Sanju. I clicked him and sent it across to Sanju who wondered why I was sending him his own pictures," Raju said.
