The Supreme court today will hear the argument on the Sutlej-Yamuna link canal matter. The court in January asked the Haryana and Punjab government to give their reply on the matter within three weeks.
The Punjab government wanted more time to give its reply on the issue. Last year in November, the court declared the law unconstitutional which was passed by the Punjab government to terminate the Sutlej Yamuna link canal agreement.
The bench said that Punjab cannot take the decision to not share the water with the neighbouring states.
