The Indian Academy Awards was announced. At the event, King Khan of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan said, this awards should not be compared to Oscars rather trying to set own benchmark.
Shahrukh stated, "Oscars are going on for years. It's inspirational. Also Golden Globe and BAFTA. They have created an Academy. But, I think there is a system there which can be inspirational in trying to take a cue from a good thing that already exists. So, I am not saying it's a benchmark that we are trying to create. We are also not trying to create a clone or a mini Oscars. But, somewhere down the line if there is a good thing, where we can create a property which is about Indian films married with the Hollywood and South Indian films and Inshallah all the films in India (in different languages) , but don't consider it (Oscars) as a benchmark - create your own benchmark!"
