Sri Lanka proved a bloodless victory counterpart Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. A thrilled four was smashed by Chamara Kapugedera which gave Lankans a five-wicket victory over Australians in their fist Twenty20 International.

This win was the fourth one in T20 Internationals for Sri Lankans in Australia and a 2-1 series win over South Africa last month.

Asela Gunaratne, man-of-the-match, made the team by his 52 off 37 balls. Lasith Malinga, who has played virtually no cricket for nearly a year due to injuries, was an influential figure taking two wickets in two balls and taking two catches.
