Mahendra Singh Dhoni, a former captain of Indian Cricket Team, was also leading the team of Rising Pune Supergiants, one of the teams in Indian Premier League. As of now, he has been given the boot for the following session of IPL.
Steve Smith, an Australian player, is now announced as the new skipper. It is informed that Dhoni has decided to extend his full co-operation and is ready to help Smith on the field.
In the last edition of Indian Premier League, Pune was formed replacing Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals and ended up winning only five matches under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
And under him only, Chennai Super Kings won the IPL in 2010 and 2011.
