Australia's Megan Schutt has made history by becoming the leading wicket-taker in the Women’s T20 World Cup. This milestone was achieved during a match against New Zealand, where Schutt claimed her first wicket, bringing her total to 46 wickets in just 26 innings. She surpassed South Africa’s Shabnim Ismail to secure this remarkable achievement.

In addition to her T20 World Cup record, Schutt is currently tied with Pakistan's Nida Dar as the leading women's wicket-taker in T20 internationals, with both players having 143 wickets in their careers.

In the match held in Sharjah, Schutt was instrumental in Australia’s 60-run victory over New Zealand. She delivered an impressive performance, finishing with bowling figures of 3 wickets for just 3 runs in 3.2 overs.

Teammate Beth Mooney praised Schutt’s consistency, stating, "Megan Schutt's been outstanding for us, not just in the last two games but throughout her whole career. I think she's in a really good place with her career as well, really enjoying it and knowing the impact she can have on our lineup." Mooney emphasized how Schutt’s skill as a pace bowler has been impressive, especially in conditions that may not favor fast bowlers.

After the match, Schutt reflected on her performance, describing herself as "pretty low-maintenance." She added, "I know I didn’t change much. As long as we did the simple things and kept the stumps in play, that would be crucial. We knew that if we started well in the powerplay, we could really peg them back in the middle, and that is what we did."
