Rajasthan Royals have appointed Vikram Rathour as their batting coach for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. Rathour, who previously served as the batting coach for India's senior men's team, will be working alongside Rahul Dravid, who was recently named head coach of the Royals.

Rathour's collaboration with Dravid dates back to their time with the Indian team from 2021 to 2024. During this period, Rathour played a key role in India’s T20 World Cup victory in 2024, marking their first International Cricket Council title in over a decade. Dravid, who stepped down as India’s head coach after the World Cup, expressed enthusiasm about reuniting with Rathour.

“Having worked closely with Vikram for many years, I can confidently say that his technical expertise and calm approach make him a perfect fit for the Royals," Dravid said. "His ability to nurture young talent and elevate players' potential will be invaluable as we aim to strengthen our squad further."

Rathour, excited about joining the Royals, stated, "It is a privilege to be part of the Royals family. The chance to work with Rahul again, along with a talented group of young players, is thrilling. I look forward to contributing to the team's vision and helping develop top-class players for both the Royals and India."

Rathour, a former India opener who played six Tests and seven ODIs between 1996 and 1997, will be working closely with Kumar Sangakkara, the team's Director of Cricket. Rajasthan Royals, led by Sanju Samson, secured a third-place finish in IPL 2024, reaching the playoffs for the second time in three years.
