Toyota Kirloskar Motor on Tuesday urged the Indian government to frame out the policies for the Bharat Stage I and Bharat Stage II compliant vehicles in India. The plea was due to the ongoing norm of BS III compliant vehicles, which will not be sold or produced.
The steps are initiated to minimize the levels of the pollution. Recently, Auto firms are requesting the government to sell the left out BS III compliant vehicles, which are left in the stock of the companies.
Toyota Kirloskar said, "We would urge the government also to put in place an enabling framework to phase out BS I aBS-II II vehicles."
It later added, "Strongly uphold the Indian government's move on phasing out BS III vehicles. This is a step in the right direction."
