Researchers have found evidence of underwater pollination. This was used with the help of microscopic crustaceans and tiny marine worms taking the role of pollinators or we can say that they are pollinating agents for aquatic plants.

Pollination is the act of transferring pollen grain from flower’s male anther female stigma to produce offspring. This is the first time when scientists observed this fertilization process in aquatic plants.

Till this time, all the scientists were believing that marine plants relied on water alone to spread their genes, to create offspring.
